So, a lot of you have been wanting to know how I like my job. As everyone well knows it was very difficult to transition here. Many things are different in the healthcare system for this state. It is amazing when you know that there is something better to offer patients and healthcare providers elsewhere. I am thankful for having a job, expecially with the way the economy seems to be going...and I have been using the economy as my motivation to "adapt and overcome". Also, the fact that Aldo is here and this is where I chose to be for both his and my relationship. He is an awesome guy and I have no regrets moving here for him. So, back to the hospital...It would be beneficial for me to become more active in the politics of the hospital. All I have to do is find my way into the system so I can understand it a little more and hopefully be influencial in initiating change. Being a trauma/surgical PCU Nurse is fun and I am learning a lot. At the same time there is a lot of things that I have seen, both my patients and other patients, that are unpleasent. A lot of social/psychological issues arise with patients when you are in this line of nursing. I have been wondering lately why God has me here, or why he allowed me to be here....I will tell you this....that I am providing care that I never thought I could "stomach"...I have changed on an individual level over the past 2.5 years as a nurse. For a while after I first moved here I totally wanted to quick....now, i have found my motivation to go on and not allow myself to stay a floor nurse. I feel that I am supposed to be active in specialised care and that requires me having my masters. So, to my brother Ron......the race is on to reach the goal....If i win...you fly me to Hawaii...and if you win I fly you somewhere.....and no, not spain.....
